CHURCH of FEAR´s SECOND INTERNATIONAL POLE SITTING-COMPETITION
Kathmandu,
Nepal, 5.-18.8.03
On 5th of August, at noon local time (UTC) COF-member Christoph
Schlingensief declared the Second International Pole Sitting-Competition
open. At Tripureswar in the south- west of the nepalesian capital,
7 competitors out of 5 different religious communities took their
place.
The seven participants, who will play off COF´s "Modern Column Holy"
until August 18th, are:
- Manon Bats (Versailles/Paris, 36 years old, Protestant)
- Anna Magdalena Scimetti (Venice, 27, Catholic)
- Brigitte Loosen (Berlin, 38, Jehova´s witness)
- Bath Mantak Chiu (Bangkok, 22, Mahayana-Buddhist)
- Nang Qi Gong (Kathmandu, 18, Lamaist)
- Guido Solberto (Mestre/Venedig, 32, Catholic)
- Ludger Thönnies (Duisburg, 43, Catholic)
Already before the competition started Christoph Schlingensief announced
a much more harder contest: "Here and now the sitters have to stay
on their poles day and night. It is going to be an exciting competition!"
